At 510 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Sandy Springs to Milstead to Monticello, moving east at 55 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Atlanta, Lawrenceville, Decatur, Conyers, Monroe, Covington, Eatonton, Madison, Monticello, Peachtree Corners, Sandy Springs, Roswell, Johns Creek, Alpharetta, Dunwoody, Milton, Duluth, Snellville, Suwanee, and Lilburn. A significantly moist tropical environment across Georgia will support high rain rates and increased chances for flash flooding. Widespread rainfall of 2 to 4 inches will be possible with locally higher amounts of 5 inches or more.
